The use of mixed media here in Manifesto Dystopia II by =seriouslytwistedshows her continued skill in both form and texture. Optically nutricious (although the vinyl might offer more roughage). (
i didn't comment when i faved b/c i couldn't remember what this reminded me of; and i've just realized, this little girl with her vinyl record and her 1984 fisher-price headphones looks like gnarls barkely's debut album ("st. elsewhere") sounds.
can't u just see ceelo green in the corner screaming, "i can transform! i'm a transfomer!!"
Thanks for the wonderful comment. This whole series was largely inspired by what I felt was a longing to regress back to being a child, and all the nostalgic kitsch of the past.
St. Elsewhere captures that essense of the past, so the comparison is very flattering because it means I managed to achieve something of what I was going for.
I love the fact that people are trying to place the image in some musical context, guessing what she's listening to, what record she's munching on.. I've gotten some great answers and they always make me laugh out loud!
